Despite the progress that has been made in the last 50 years, alcoholism and other drug addictions remain among the top healthcare concerns in American society, and are closely linked with social problems, family dysfunction and domestic violence.  Americans are coming to understand the destructive effects of alcohol and other drug use.  However, more work is needed to reduce the stigma of addictions and to provide effective prevention and treatment opportunities for all those in need of these services.  NCADD-SD makes a difference.  Through education, media advocacy, information and referral services and community presentations, we bring a greater understanding of alcohol and other drug abuse to the public, and help to foster the provision and utilization of appropriate treatment for these problems, thereby benefiting both the chemically dependent person and society as a whole.

NCADD-SD relies on contributions from foundations, corporations and individual donors for support.  You can help join the fight by contributing your resources and/or time.  Membership dues, for our affiliate, is $25.00/year.  Dues and donations are tax deductible under Nouveau Vie's federal ID number.
